Description :

A wedge-tailed eagle probably wounded by shooters.

The Wedge-tailed Eagle has been hunted in the past because of its reputation for killing lambs. However rabbits and carrion are the most important part of its diet although it is an opportune hunter that also eats marsupials, young dingos and other birds such as galahs. It is now a protected species.
