Description : |
Wallace Packer came to South Australia in 1888 to take up an appointment as organist of St. Paul's Church, Port Adelaide. Later he became director or the choir and organist of Christ Church in North Adelaide. He was also a teacher of the organ, piano and voice and gave concerts at the Adelaide Town Hall and churches throughout Adelaide's suburbs. He composed sacred music including anthems, services and hymns. This piece is dedicated to His Excellency the Right Hon. the Earl of Hopetoun, the first Governor-General of Australia. Hopetoun is incorrectly spelled as Hoptoun on the cover. |
