Sketch by Doctor Alexander Kelly of the Tintara vineyard, near McLaren Vale. Thomas Hardy purchased the Tintara winery from Dr. Kelly in 1876, adding to his original vineyard at 'Bankside' on the River Torrens just outside Adelaide. By the 1920s Hardy's company owned vineyards in the Waikerie irrigation area on the River Murray and in the Barossa Valley. |
