Interview with Dr John Thompson who was a general practitioner in Port Augusta from 1940 to 1990.


The interview focuses on Dr Thompson's work as a doctor in Port Augusta and for the Royal Flying Doctor Service in outback South Australia from 1940 to 1980.

Dr Thompson was awarded an Order of Australia in 1997 for service to medicine and hospital administration through the Port Augusta hospital for over 35 years.
