Description :

A group of children engaged in various activities in the classroom.

The two girls on the left are blindfolded and assembling a puzzle by feel. The walls of the classroom are decorated with numerous pictures, there is a piano, and in the corner adjacent to the blackboard there is a fenced off area where children can play 'house' with miniature furniture.

The photograph is from a collection of lantern slides which belonged to Lydia Longmore, the first woman inspector of infant schools in South Australia.
