Description :

Children engaged in structured physical activities in the playground.

Physical activity not only increases muscular strength, flexibility and coordination, it helps children in developing social skills such as sharing, taking turns, and good sportsmanship.

This photograph is from a series of views taken from lantern slides of kindergarten and infant school premises and activities in South Australia and New South Wales. The slides were owned and used by Lydia Longmore, O.B.E., the first woman to be an Inspector of infant schools in South Australia.
