Premiership medal presented to H. McNamara as a participant in the Norwood Football Club's South Australian Football Association (SAFA) premiership team of 1881. One side of the medal is inscribed 'S.A.F.A. season 1881 The Fowler Champion Medals won by Norwood 1st 20' with 'H. McNamara' on the other side. The SAFA was the forerunner of the South Australian National Football League. According to the Our season, published by the Norwood Football Club in 1881, Norwood played a total of nineteen games with thirteen wins, four draws and two losses. McNamara kicked five goals during the season which was his first with Norwood. He continued to play for the Club until 1885. |
