View of the original entrance to the Adelaide Fruit and Produce Exchange building, showing the apartment development behind the facade. The Adelaide Fruit and Produce Exchange was established by William Charlick, a grocer, in 1903-04. The building was designed by Henry J. Cowell. The markets ceased to exist in1988 and during the 1990s and early 2000s the market building was demolished to allow the construction of apartment buildings and only part of the facade was saved. |
