Description : |
Many people will not know this, but in the 1980s Adelaide had a very unique radio station called Five Triple M, which was a public/community radio station. It unfortunately sold its name for some cheap price in the late 1980s to a bigger name operator. The legacy of talent promoted via the original 5 MMM should not be forgotten, as these people were incredibly innovative musicians, radio presenters and entrepreneurs. They sacrificed a lot and kept creativity and music talent 'alive' in South Australia. Lest we forget. I am one of the announcers who worked hard to promote South Australian music in the early 1980s and feel proud about that. It is a pleasure to see the bands, music and talents of that era have been preserved via the Library services. |
