From the Advertiser, 24 August 1938. This dispatch reports that an advance party had ridden ahead to the site of Lowe's discovery, only to be disappointed by what they found... The site had been disturbed since Lowe's last visit (most probably by cattle) and upon inspection the 'skeletons' were pronounced as nothing more than calcified tree roots! |
