John Southwood and George Spring of the Plain dealer newspaper founded the Copper age as a Tuesday evening adjunct to his main newspaper in 1906. The newspaper survived only two years and ceased in 1908. The content was largely the same in both titles. The title Copper age was the result of a competition run by the Plain dealer, with the winning suggestion coming from Miss Lily Jolly of Kadina. The first issue had a circulation of 800 copies. |
