Description : |
Colour card for paints for roofs, bridges and other structural metal work. 'United' was the trademark of the Australasian United Paint Co. Ltd which had its headquarters at Lipson Street Port Adelaide from 1913 to 1953. By 1956 it was no longer a listed company, probably absorbed by another company. Throughout this period corrugated iron was a popular roofing material. To protect it from the weather it was painted, and would require re-painting every so often. Iron roofs are making a return to popularity with the advent of colourbond roofing iron, which needs no painting, and comes in a good range of colours. |
