Description :
Although Oswald Pryor drew cartoons on many subjects during his career, it is for the cartoons of Cornish men and women and their descendants, the 'Cousin Jacks and Jennys' of Moonta, for which he will be most remembered. A whimsical reflection of everyday life in the area, Pryor would often use the local dialect to gently poke fun at the miners and their families as well as the mine superintendents, or Captains, particularly Captain Hancock. Goats are often seen in the background, as Pryor suggests their beards reflected those of the men.
