Advertisement for the China Gift Store, owned by Gladys Sym Choon, offering "gifts that typify the spirit of Christmas". Gladys Sym Choon's parents migrated to South Australia from Southern China in the late 19th century. After being educated at Adelaide High School Gladys established the China Gift Store in Rundle Street in 1923. After her retirement, Gladys's daughter ran the shop until its closure in 1984. |
