Mailman Tom Kruse on the sandhills north of the Cooper. Tom Kruse delivered mail and supplies to communities along the Birdville Track, which traverses remote South Australia from Marree to Birdsville in the south west corner of Queensland, for 20 years. In his trusty Leyland Badger truck, Kruse crossed some of the most difficult terrain in the state. He died in 2011 aged 96. |
