George French Angas recorded his impressions of South Australia shortly after his arrival in 1844. Plate 32 shows a variety of Aboriginal dwellings. At the top is one from the communities of the Coorong, in the centre a summer encampment near Lake Albert, bottom left a sturdier wurlie for the winter months at Lake Albert. The dwelling on the right is from near the River Light. |
