Description : |
A programme or itinerary of the sites that the Parliamentary party would visit is detailed. Notes on places of interest along the River Murray including settlements were compiled by Samuel McIntosh, who had been a manager with the Chaffey Brothers, and in 1895 was appointed Government Inspector for Village Settlements for the South Australian government. Later he became Director of Irrigation and Reclamation. Notes on the locks and weirs were supplied by Graham Stewart. Included in this publication is a table of mileages from the Murray Mouth to various settlements along the river, photographs and a map showing proposed lock sites. |
