Letter to the editor of The Advertiser questioning why South Australians are concerned about conservation of water from the River Murray when irrigators upstream are using so much Many South Australians have felt strongly enough about the issue of irrigating upstream cotton and rice crops with River Murray water that they have written to The Advertiser newspaper to express their concerns. These letters from 2002 and 2003 show how people were feeling about the economic, environmental and social impact of using flood irrigation to water dryland crops in Queensland and New South Wales. |
