Description :

The figures for the Wellington ferry for the two years 1873-75 were over 29000 passengers, 2907 vehicles and over 100,000 head of sheep and cattle. Mr Ashwin of the Central Road Board provides a report on the ferry crossing at Wellington which was considered unsatisfactory and expensive to run. Wellington ferry still operates in 2010.
