During the construction of the new Railway Bridge showing the scaffolding around the pylons The second bridge at Murray Bridge was opened in 1925 and was specifically built to carry rail traffic. The original bridge, built in 1879, was carrying the railway line by 1886, and by early in the 20th century was carrying up to 15 freight trains a day, with road traffic held up for hours. With the building of the second bridge, the first could now revert to carrying road traffic only. |
