Description :

BERRI: River punt at Berri carrying a truck and two passengers photographed as it is about to cross the Murray River

A ferry service was provided across the river from 1910 and until 1961 a range of fees were charged, for instance in 1938 it cost an adult one penny each way (roughly one cent), and half a farthing for each head of sheep.

A bridge replaced the ferry in 1997.
