Description : |
The 1956 River Murray flood is considered to be the greatest natural catastrophe in South Australia's history and is the largest flood ever recorded in the state. The flood peaked 12.3 metres at Morgan. The State Library of South Australia holds a collection of 15 film reels taken by amateur filmmaker Ron Axer between ca. 1950 - 1974. The returned serviceman and newsagent of Mannum recorded local scenes and events in the Riverland. |
