Description : |
Sturt describes how he charted the river as the boat travelled downstream, recording its twists and turns and the nature of the country adjacent to the river. This chart was of great assistance on their return trip back upstream as it provided a guide to the distances they had travelled and the sites of their previous camps. The extracts are pp. 146/47 and 188/89 from volume 2 of Two expeditons into the interior of southern Australia, during the years 1828, 1829, 1830, and 1831 ... |
