Description : |
The PS Marionbegan her life in the late 1890s as a general trade paddle steamer on the River Murray. She was refitted in 1908 to become a passenger steamer, offering return trips from Murray Bridge to Renmark to tourists. The Marionwas all but abandoned in the 1940s, but was purchased by the National Trust in 1963 and was refurbished and installed as a floating museum and part of the Mannum Dock Museum. The Marionstill takes cruises several times a year. Selections from this footage show the passengers and crew of the PS Marion on a cruise of the River Murray in 1940. The Marion is shown negotiating a lock and views of the river are also seen. |
