Frederick Leopold 'Leo' Terrell was an ironworker who was just arriving back from work in Broken Hill when war was declared in August 1914. In his diary it is clear that the difficult economic times in South Australia were a concern to him. He enlisted on 9 February 1915 and served at Gallipoli and the Western Front until his discharge on 12 June 1918. View his AIF Service Record [National Archives of Australia.
