Description :

A wooden clown tray puzzle and a wooden ship tray puzzle. Consisting of only a few pieces these simple puzzles are designed for very young children. Made of painted wood they are tough enough to withstand the repeated handling by children the childcare centre from which they came.

In the 17th century educational theorist John Locke believed that play and recreation were learning for children. Later educationalists agreed and suggested that young children should not be left too long without external stimulus. The age of the educational toy had arrived. Toys which assist the development of hand/eye coordination and spatial concepts include simple jigsaws, posting and nesting boxes and babushka dolls.
