Description :

Children sailing toy boats, probably on a pond associated with a local bore or a waterhole, at Oodnadatta. An adult crouches at the water's edge supervising or enjoying the spectacle of the toy boats and two girls also watch.

The building and sailding of toy boats were popular activities. Today the boats are more likely to be radio controlled but the fun remains of moving the boat safely through a course or just over the water and back to shore.

Whether on a river, or the man-made pond in the neighbourhood park, boating has been an ongoing and popular hobby.
