Advertisement for A. Simpson & Son's Adelaide parent fire and thief proof safes. Tinsmith Alfred Simpson went into business in Adelaide in 1853. In the 1860s, Simpson began manufacturing safes, which became well-known for their ability to resist attempts to blow them open with dynamite. |
