Portrait of A. Hayward from Aroona from the S.A. Northern Pioneers' composite, 1850-1859 (shown in position on B 6912/2). Albertus Hayward was the brother of Johnson Frederick Hayward, usually known as Fred. Fred Hayward initially managed properties for others including Dr J H Browne and later became an owner of extensive proprties in his own right These included Canowie near Hallett and Aroona, north of Wilpena. His younger brother Albertus (1829-1889) was a partner with George Gooch and Abraham Scott in Myall Creek station west of Port Augusta. At some stage he became involved with Aroona. |
