Description :

Charles Mountford's notes of the evidence taken from Afghan cameleer Mahomed [Mohomet] Usef near 'Erldunda Station', during the 1935 'Commonwealth Board of Enquiry into the alleged ill-treatment of Aborigines near Ayers Rock'. Mountford acted as secretary to the Enquiry.


Mahomet Usef, of the Uluru area, was associated with the Aboriginal people through the trading of dingo scalps. During the Enquiry, Usef was questioned by Mr V.J. White, Assistant Chief Protector of Aborigines in the Northern Territory.
