Description :

Charles Sturt describes the boat in which he navigated and charted the voyage down the Murrumbidgee and Murray rivers, giving dimensions and construction details. In addition to the whaleboat, the men constructed a skiff or raft to carry some of their provisions and equipment. Early in the voyage this met with an accident with disastrous results for the expedition.
