Description :

First printed in The Register, this essay examines South Australian riparian rights, and the desire to maintain and improve the Murray and the Darling rivers and their tributaries as commercial highways. Gordon provides arguments why these rivers should be locked and why use of the river as a highway is economically more viable than the construction of railways for the transportation of goods. The pamphlet includes two maps.
