Description :

This article describes the water levels, economic loss and damage to property and crops affecting settlements along the River Murray including Renmark, Murtho and Waikerie, incurred because of the flood. The article also reports on some of the work taking place to minimise flood damage-for example, strengthening riverbanks.

Also included are snippets of news which demonstrated that everyday life still continued on in spite of the hardships of the flood. The article includes a photograph of an Advertiser newspaper photographer taking aerial photographs.
