In 1882 notice was given at the Sunday service at Christ Church Anglican Church, Kapunda, that a large portion of the old Parsonage building had collapsed a few days earlier. Consequently, a meeting was held the following day and a committee formed to arrange repairs and extensions to the building under the architect Daniel Garlick. No doubt the Rector, the Rev. Joseph Donaldson, was anxious that his residence be made safe for his continued occupation. However, a few years later, in 1888, the Rev. Donaldson was asked to resign his position, having been discovered to be guilty of bigamy. This photograph shows the Rector's study, probably in the early 1900s when the Rev. George Griffiths was in charge of the parish of Kapunda. |
