Description :

Youth's journal was a short-lived publication produced by Walter Cousins Sims. Sims had previously published the Adelaide miscellany. In its second year Youth's journal simply became a new version of Adelaide miscellany. The magazine contained stories, poems, puzzles, and a chess column. All the material seems to have been locally written. Contributors included Agnes Neale (Caroline Agnes Leane) and 'Clotilde' - two prolific writers in the local press. The Rev. Wilton Hack contributed a series of articles about drawing techniques, as well as one article about morality and avoiding temptation. (25 November 1871, p. 69) 'C.H.H.' contributed a series describing travel in the far north of South Australia.
