View of the Central Market, from Grote Street, taken on 28 April 1967. The Adelaide Central Market, then known as the City Market, was opened in January 1869. In the middle of that year, the first structures to house the market were completed. The building viewed here was the first permanent structure constructed for the market - building began in 1900. |
