Description :

Testing of atomic bombs was carried out at Maralinga in South Australia's far west in the late 1950s. The sites were officially 'cleaned up' in 1967, but this newspaper article from 1976 announces the release of government reports that confirm that radioactive waste from the testing was still buried at Maralinga.
