View of the Colonel William Light statue overlooking Adelaide from Montefiore Hill. Montefiore Hill was named after the merchant Jacob Montefiore, one of the South Australian Colonization Commissioners. Montefiore assisted in the preparation of the ships that would convey Colonel Light's party to South Australia to select the site of the colony's capital city. |
