Description :

A steam train travelling along the Pichi Richi Pass, near Port Augusta, South Australia.

The Pichi Richi Pass lies between Port Augusta and Quorn in the state's north. The railway that runs through the pass was originally part of the great northern line which was intended to link Port Augusta and Darwin. The line was closed to regular traffic in 1957. The oldest section of the track is now used to run heritage railway journeys.
