Big things: Big Winch

The Big Winch is in the outback town of Coober Pedy. It features a lookout which gives a view of the town and an opal and art gallery. Other Coober Pedy attractions include the underground dwellings, known as dugouts, in which about half of the population live to escape the extreme desert temperatures and tours of disused mines.
