Premises of Calder & Balfour's City Steam Biscuit Factory, Twin Street, Adelaide. James Calder established the City Steam Biscuit Factory in 1856. When his nephew John Balfour joined the business, the company began trading as Calder and Balfour.   Today Balfours still manufactures bakery products, but concentrates on producing cakes and pasteries rather than biscuits. |
