Description : |
Front cover of a pamphlet advertising the Hume Pipe Co. and its flagship product - a reinforced concrete pipe manufactured using centrifugal force to evenly distribute the concrete. After the First World War the Australian government established soldier settlement schemes which settled returned soldiers and their families on the land. Much of this land could only support agriculture if it was irrigated and Hume's spun concrete pipes were ideal for irrigation. |
