The collections of the State Library of South Australia hold a rich variety of items relating to music and musicians.  Some of these reflect the leading role our musicians have taken on the national and international stage in many different spheres of music.

The music collections range from large personal record groups of archives to smaller holdings for musicians, composers and teachers, as well as published sheet music, audio recordings on cylinders, records, cassettes and CDs.

SA Music is the beginning of a digital music collection at the State Library of South Australia and presents digitised copies of South Australian music scores and sound recordings about South Australia, published in South Australia or created by South Australians.

To find out more about the music resources at the State Library see our fact sheet titled [Music Collections] and audiovisual material.

To search for more music scores and sound recordings at the State Library go to the library catalogues.

SA Music is also a contributor to Music Australia, a portal to resources about Australian music held in the National Library of Australia and other participating organisations including the National Film and Sound Archive.
