Description :

Thomas Carlyon Angove, Commander of the Royal S.A. Yacht Squadron and winemaker.

Known as 'Skipper' because of his love of sailing, Thomas Carlyon Angove was the son of Dr. William Angove who established vineyards at Tea Tree Gully in 1889. Angove senior made wine as a sideline to his medical profession, but Skipper guided the company through expansion to the Riverland and the production of a more diverse range of products. Angove's Pty Ltd is still a family business today and is based in the Riverland.
